mysteries.
A location checklist for Town, the Sewers and the Mall — with help for the hidden tree.

THE SHORT ANSWER
Check Dave's House, the sewer office, the Mall ATM, the tree below the sports store, the sports counter, the empty-store arcade and Jon's Smoothies. If you have six, try the tree: stand on the wooden boards beside the hole and interact to your left. Television news does not count.

The investigation inside Dave's House
Search inside Dave's home for the investigation prompt. This is the Town entry in the wiki's early mystery list.

Confirm that the interaction asks whether you want to investigate further. A conversation or a news event is not enough.

SEWERS · PARKS & RECREATION OFFICE
The office altar
Look for the altar inside the Parks & Recreation Office. The sewer investigation is a specific object, not every unusual encounter underground.

Find the office behind the south-east sewer gate. If gates block your route, follow the Gatekeeper key locations to reach it.

The ATM
Investigate the ATM in the Mall hallway. Count the investigation itself, rather than assuming an ordinary shopping interaction completes it.

The tree beside the hole
The developer-marked answer identifies this as the missing seventh location in the Demo discussion.

Go below the sports store, stand on the plank beside the hole, then face and interact left. Approaching from another side can make this easy to miss. See the direction diagram.

The sports-store counter
Check the counter inside the sports store. This is a separate investigation from the nearby tree.

The arcade machine
Look inside the empty store for the arcade investigation. Walking past the storefront can leave this one unchecked.
Show the clue
The wiki lists it under Empty Store. Search for the machine in that shop, rather than a general arcade event or a machine elsewhere.

The food-court creature
Investigate the strange creature at Jon's Smoothies in the food court. Players in the original discussion describe this as the food-court goo.
No unchecked mysteries in this area. Try another area or turn off “Still to find”.

Stand on the boards. Interact left.
The location in the accepted Demo answer is below the sports store. Reach the wooden plank beside the hole before interacting; simply approaching the tree from any direction is not the instruction given.

What actually counts?
Chris Cote explains that mysteries are world objects with an “investigate further?” prompt. TV news is a different system. The wiki's Time to Investigate task uses the early Town, Mall and Sewers locations; Old Woods investigations do not count toward that task.
The wiki lists milestones of 1, 3, 5 and 7. Return to Akira between stages and use your task log to confirm your active objective. The checklist above tracks places you have visited; it does not calculate your in-game quest progress or promise a particular dice reward.
READ THE PROMPT
What is the object asking?
This screen offers a blessing from a God Shrine. For the mystery task, look for the developer's “investigate further?” prompt.

- Check the tree's approach. Use the plank and interact left, even if you previously tried another side.
- Check the empty store. Its arcade machine is a separate Mall mystery.
- Count the office altar. Exploring the Sewers or seeing a sewer news event is not the same investigation.
- Read your active task stage. Return to the quest giver when the current objective is complete.
- Match your build. These are Demo-era instructions. If the object or task differs in your game, use the current quest log and the official discussion to report the exact location and version.
A note on names: the 2025 question refers to Darian, while the later wiki calls this Akira's task. That difference is recorded here; we have not confirmed what explains the difference in names.
